MySTL and GenYES : a brief introduction

MYSTL clubs are being piloted in three secondary technical schools in the 2009 school year. Students at SMTs Sepang, Tuanku Jaafar, and Kuala Lumpur will work with a faculty advisor to learn advanced technology, leadership, and mentoring skills. Using Generation YES's GenYES and TechYES programs, club members will then support their schools in the following four goals:
  1. Help teachers and students learn how to use hardware, software and network applications
  2. Certify all 4th form students as technology literate
  3. Work with teachers to create lessons using technology
  4. Maintain the technology infrastructure at the school

GenYES is the only student-centered research-based solution for school-wide technology integration. Students work with teachers to design technology-infused lessons and provide tech support. The resulting collaboration provides the students with project-based learning and the teachers with on-site, sustainable technology integration support.
